Baking Tips & Tricks

  • Chill your mixing bowl and beaters: Helps the cream whip faster and stay stable

  • Use cold heavy cream: Whips better and holds its shape longer

  • Use quality lemon curd: Homemade or high-quality store-bought curd makes a big difference in flavor

  • Serve in clear cups: It looks beautiful and lets the light texture shine.

Easy Lemon Mousse Recipe

Prep: 5 mins. | Chill 30 mins. | Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 c. heavy whipping cream

  • 2 T. powdered sugar

  • 1/2 c. lemon curd

  • graham cracker crust, (optional)

Let's Get Started!

  1. In a large bowl pour heavy cream and powdered sugar. Whip on medium speed until it becomes thick and stiff peaks form. About 5 minutes.

  2. In a separate bowl, add the lemon curd and fold in the whipped cream mixture until the white streaks are gone. Put the mousse into your desired cups and place them in the refrigerator.

  3. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or overnight.

  4. Top with additional whipped cream and enjoy!

  5. Note: Mousse can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For more lemon flavor, add up to 2/3 cup of additional lemon curd.

How to Serve

  • In small glass cups or jars: Use clear containers to show off the mousse’s light texture and pale yellow color; perfect for elegant presentation

  • With a graham cracker or shortbread cookie base: Layer mousse on top of crushed cookies for added crunch and a pie-like feel

  • Topped with fresh berries: Add strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries for a pop of color and tart contrast.

  • Garnished with lemon zest and mint leaves: A fresh, bright touch that enhances the citrusy flavor.

  • Layered in a trifle with whipped cream and pound cake: Great for potlucks or dinner parties when you want to stretch the mousse into more servings.
