  • Keep the butter hot: Pouring melted butter into the skillet helps create a crisp, golden crust

  • Avoid overbaking: Check at 8 minutes; they should be just lightly golden on top

  • Brush with butter after baking: It locks in moisture and adds that irresistible shine

Prep: 10 mins. | Cook: 10 mins. | Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 c. butter, melted and divided

  • 2 1/4 c. Bisquick mix

  • 1/2 c. sour cream

  • 1/2 c. 7 up soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Pour 1/4 cup of the melted butter into the bottom of a cast iron skillet.

  2. Mix Bisquick starting with 2 cups, sour cream and 7 up in a medium bowl until a dough is formed. Continue to add 1/4 cup of Bisquick until you reach the desired consistency.

  3. Add flour to a work surface and turn dough out. Add flour to your hands and to the top of the dough. Roll or press the dough with your hand to about 1 inch. Cut dough in circles using a cookie cutter or the rim of a coffee mug and add to the skillet.

  4. Bake biscuits in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Brush the tops with remaining butter. Let them cool for about 5 minutes, then serve.
